Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and mental health screenings using clinical terminology and ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9).
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and proper medical records management.
- Engage in crisis management and intervention strategies for patients experiencing acute mental health issues or trauma, including PTSD care and psychiatric patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across DAY CARE settings or community agencies to coordinate patient care, case management, and home & community care services.
Skills
- Extensive experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and evidence-based practices for mental health counseling.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and facilitate behavioral change.
- Strong background working with children & family counseling, including special education needs and autism spectrum disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities of any kind across diverse settings.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with medical social work practices.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments involving psychiatric evaluations, intake procedures, diagnostic evaluations, and behavioral health planning.
