What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic position at Victory Truck & Trailer Repair?
Victory Truck & Trailer Repair is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Dwight, IL.
If you know your way around trucks and trailers, can diagnose problems without someone standing over your shoulder, and take pride in fixing things right the first time, we want to hear from you.
Pay up to $42/hour based on experience and skill level.
Travel expenses to and from Dwight, IL are reimbursed.
We work on semi tractors, open deck trailers, dry vans, and reefers, and you'll have the tools, equipment, and support you need to do the job properly.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance, oil changes, lubrication, and general service.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, air, HVAC, cooling, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems.
- Perform truck and trailer brake, tire, and wheel-end repairs.
- Complete CSA/DOT inspections and address defects.
- Handle light welding and other truck and trailer repairs as needed.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend the right repair.
- Complete work orders with accurate parts and labor information.
- Keep your work area and shop equipment organized and in good condition.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience.
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks and/or trailers.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and get repairs done right.
- A safety-first attitude and pride in the quality of your work.
- You don't need to know everything, we're looking for someone experienced who is also willing to keep learning.
