What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Victory Steel Co.,Inc?
Position Summary: The Production Planner is a front office position which facilitates the maximization of resources to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Enter production live work into Proprietary software to provide maximum efficiency for fabrication production.
- Track inventory to get full utilization from product.
- Work closely with customers and facility managers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with customers and designated Re-Steel & Victory Steel personnel to ensure on-time deliveries in efficient manner.
- Work with plant managers, sales department, project managers, drivers, and customers to coordinate delivery of finished product.
- Follow-up with Re-Steel personnel and customers as necessary to ensure on-time production and deliveries.
- Any other miscellaneous duties associated with dispatching and customer service that are delegated from the Shipping Department and from Management.
Essential skills and experience:
- Experience in construction, steel industry or related field helpful, but not mandatory.
- Previous transportation / logistics experience a plus.
- Planning: Ability to think and plan.
- Management: Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong customer service orientation.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency.
- Basic math skills are very important to perform successfully.
