What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Victory Machine & Fab, LLC?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspection Apprentice to join our machine shop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in quality control and precision measurement. We are willing to train the right candidate, including hands-on training with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Use and develop skills with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, and depth micrometers
- Assist with surface plate setup and layout inspections
- Record and document inspection results accurately
- Support calibration and certification processes
- Prepare inspected parts for outside services and shipment
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- No advanced experience required, just a strong work ethic and a willingness to develop new skills.
- Basic familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and blueprints preferred
- Familiarity with surface plate setup is a plus (will train)
- Interest in machining, manufacturing, or quality inspection
- Strong attention to detail and basic math and problem-solving skills
