Position Overview
The Lead HVAC/Plumbing Technician is responsible for overseeing service calls, repairs, and installations while setting the standard for quality workmanship and professionalism. This role includes mentoring other technicians, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and correctly, and maintaining strong communication with the office and customers.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Responsiblities
- Diagnose, repair, and install HVAC and/or plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot complex service issues independently
- Oversee and ensure quality of installations and repairs
- Ensure all work meets local codes and safety standards
- Complete service documentation accurately and promptly
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead and mentor junior technicians and apprentices
- Set the standard for professionalism, workmanship, and customer service
- Communicate clearly with the dispatcher and office staff regarding job status
- Keep jobs on schedule and notify the office of any delays or return visits
- Assist in training team members on best practices and technical skills
Customer Experience
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and commercial clients
- Explain repairs, recommendations, and estimates in an honest and professional manner
- Represent the company with integrity and respect
Estimates & Follow-Through
- Build accurate estimates for repairs and installations
- Ensure estimates are completed in a timely manner
- Identify additional work opportunities when approrpiate
- Confirm job completion and customer satisfaction before leaving site
Emergency & After-Hours Work
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service
- Respond professionally and efficiently during urgent situations
Qualifications
- 5 years of HVAC and/or plumbing experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and lead others
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to quality and safety
Preferred (But Not Required)
- State licensing (if applicable)
- EPA certification (for HVAC)
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Experience with commercial and residential systems

Pay: $24.72 - $29.78 per hour
