OTR - Truck and Trailer Mechanic

Schedule: 5-day Primary (Weekly Schedule, some OT will be required)
Travel: Service area within a 100 mile radius of Kilgore, TX, occasional travel out of district may be needed.

Position Summary

Victory Fleet Service is seeking an experienced and motivated Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our growing team in Kilgore, Texas. This position combines shop repairs with mobile field service, providing maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency roadside repairs for commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong diagnostic skills who can safely perform repairs in both shop and field environments while delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance services and DOT inspections.

• Respond to roadside service calls in the Kilgore district.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, air brake, and suspension systems.

• Use diagnostic software and electronic service tools to identify equipment faults.

• Complete repairs efficiently while minimizing customer downtime.

• Document inspections, repairs, and parts used on work orders.

• Maintain company service truck, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.

• Communicate repair status and recommendations with customers and management.

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when representing Victory Fleet Service.

• Must be flexible with work schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.

• Air Brake Certification or meets minimum requirements.

• Experience working on Class 7 and Class 8 trucks and trailers.

• Strong knowledge of Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Paccar, Volvo, Mack, and Caterpillar engines is preferred. (Noregon JPRO software)

• Experience with electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, and air brake systems.

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• CDL is preferred but not required.

• Must provide personal mechanic hand tools.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Live local to the Kilgore area.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift up to 75 pounds.

• Climb, kneel, bend, crawl, and work underneath equipment.

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to respond to roadside service calls and work in physically demanding environments.
