SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Finance Manager plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the church by providing strategic financial and administrative leadership. This position ensures that every resource entrusted to Victory Family Church is stewarded with integrity and purpose. The Finance Manager oversees the annual budget, maintains accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthens donor trust, and safeguards the systems that support the ministry. Through strong oversight and accountability, the Finance Manager empowers Pastors, ministries, and campuses to reach more people for Jesus and expand our impact in the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and alignment with the church's mission and strategic goals.
- Develop, oversee, and monitor the annual operating budget in partnership with ministry departments, maintaining financial accountability throughout the year.
- Prepare and present timely, financial statements and reports for leadership, the board, and ministries.
- Manage cash flow, bank, and investment accounts to ensure liquidity, compliance, and responsible stewardship of resources.
- Oversee all accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, payables, and receivables, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Direct donor stewardship processes, ensuring all giving is properly recorded, receipted, reconciled, and communicated with transparency.
- Coordinate annual audits, maintain financial policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations.
- Supervise and train staff and volunteers, fostering excellence, accountability, and consistent practices across campuses.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Degree in finance, management, or accounting required.
- Experience managing budgets, financial forecasting, and reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Experience implementing and overseeing internal controls and compliance measures.
- Proficiency in GAAP, particularly as applied to nonprofits and churches.
- Knowledge of donor stewardship practices.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel.
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks).
