Job Title: Early Learning Center Teacher
Salary: $17.50-$18/hour DOE
Schedule: Flexible, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Description:
We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our daycare team. We are in need of a Certified Teacher (must be at least 18 years of age and have 750 hours classroom experience). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who love working with children and are committed to providing a nurturing educational environment.
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports exploration and learning.
- Supervise and guide children during daily routines including meals, naps, and potty training or diapering.
- Observe and assess each child’s development, maintaining records and sharing progress with families.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff, fostering strong relationships and providing consistent updates.
- Support and mentor assistant teachers, ensuring classroom consistency and teamwork.
- Maintain licensing standards and health/safety protocols at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age, or older.
- High school diploma or GED (required); CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred but not needed).
- At least 1 year (or 750 hours) of experience working with children in a licensed child care facility.
- Oregon Central Background Registry enrollment (current and active).
- Willingness to obtain, or update certifications in:
-Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid
-Food Handler’s Card
-Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN)
-Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety (ICCHS)
-Safe Sleep for Infants
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working with young children.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs, bend, sit on the floor, and respond quickly to active toddlers.
