Duties
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring timely payments and deductions.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update HRIS (Human Resources Information System) databases like PeopleSoft or Kronos to reflect current employee information.
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting software such as QuickBooks or general ledger systems, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, labor law, payroll tax regulations, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism while managing payroll tax filings and related documentation.
- Assist with audits by preparing reports, verifying data entries, and reconciling accounts related to payroll and benefits.
- Support payroll management tasks including data entry, time & attendance system oversight, and processing journal entries for financial records.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll processing and benefits administration within a corporate or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, tax law related to payroll taxes, labor law compliance, and governmental reporting standards.
- Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial tools; experience with general ledger accounting is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data accurately using spreadsheets; experience with account reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
