Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Collections / Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the financial health of our business through proactive customer outreach and timely collections. This role is essential in ensuring steady cash flow and requires someone comfortable with a high volume of phone calls, written follow-up, professional communication, and accurate account tracking.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week - (Monday - Friday; Standard Business Hours)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Collections / Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the financial health of our business through proactive customer outreach and timely collections. This role is essential in ensuring steady cash flow and requires someone comfortable with a high volume of phone calls, written follow-up, professional communication, and accurate account tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inbound & outbound calls to customers with past-due balances, following up until payment is resolved.
- Send follow-up emails and text messages to provide reminders and payment options.
- Maintain professional, empathetic, and solution-focused communication in all interactions.
- Accurately document customer communications and account updates in the system.
- Monitor aging reports to prioritize outreach efforts.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and service-related concerns.
- Escalate complex or non-responsive accounts per company protocols.
- Recommend accounts for third-party collections or further action as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling customer information.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a customer service or a collections-related role.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and repeated follow-ups.
- Team player with a collaborative attitude and strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with standard A/R procedures and collections practices.
- Experience in roofing, construction, or other service-based industries.
- Proficiency in CRM or accounting software platforms - ServiceTitan & Sage Intacct a plus!
