Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Help patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Assist in the transportation of patients to various departments such as outpatient clinics, emergency medicine, or inpatient units.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Participate in training sessions and educational programs to enhance skills related to the position.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of outpatient care processes and emergency medicine practices is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and moving patients safely.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is desirable but not mandatory.
