Pay Scale: Teacher
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Develop or modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student’s ability level.
Assist in helping students with replacement behaviors and teach students how to be successful in a classroom setting.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required certification for subject and grade level assigned
Special education certification (preferred)
Experience:
3 years’ teaching experience
ABA training (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
General knowledge of applied behavior principles
Excel in/Strong classroom management skills
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to capitalize on students' interests to better engage students and to encourage independent learning
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Uses information about individual student to make learning more meaningful and relevant
