Title: Substitute Teacher

Job Description: Provide direct instruction to all students.

Qualifications

• Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate or requisite hours per NY state guidelines preferred.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of a range of student learners
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
  
  

Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:

• Ability to follow plans provided
• Ability to plan lessons as needed
• Knowledge of classroom management strategies
• Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
• Ability to organize and coordinate work;
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parent(s) guardian(s)
• Ability to engage culturally diverse students; and
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  
  

Terms of Employment

The position of Substitute Teacher can be per diem, short term, long term or ten-month position.

Reports to: Building Principal

Salary: Minimum starting salary as per the Victor Teachers' Association Contract

NYSED teacher certified - $130/day (1-30 days)

• $145/day (31 days)

NYS TRS retiree -$145/day (1-30 days)

• $160/day (31 days)
  
  

Teacher Assistant Sub. -$15.75/hr
