POSITION TITLE: Community Engagement & Communications Manager
REPORTS TO: Development and Community Engagement Director
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time /Non-Exempt
PAY RATE: $20.19-$21.63 DOQ
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Develops, implements, and manages the organization's marketing, communications, volunteer engagement, outreach, and community engagement efforts. Oversees volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition while increasing public awareness of the organization's mission, services, and volunteer opportunities through strategic marketing, media relations, community partnerships, and outreach initiatives. Assists with fundraising activities, donor communications, and organizational events.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Communications
· Design, edit, coordinate, and produce print and electronic communications, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, presentations, and promotional materials.
· Assist in the development of the annual report.
· Develop, manage, and regularly update the organization's website.
· Create, schedule, and manage content across all social media platforms.
· Serve as the organization's brand manager by ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and marketing materials.
· Develop and coordinate advertising campaigns, public awareness initiatives, promotional videos, and public service announcements.
· Monitor website, social media, and marketing analytics and prepare monthly reports.
Media & Public Relations
· Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories, and public service announcements.
· Cultivate relationships with local media and proactively identify opportunities to promote the organization's services and mission.
· Coordinate media interviews and prepare staff for public appearances.
· Support the Executive Director as agency spokesperson as needed.
Volunteer Coordination
· Assess organizational needs and develop volunteer and internship opportunities.
· Recruit, interview, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and recognize volunteers and interns.
· Serve as liaison between staff and volunteers.
· Develop and maintain volunteer orientation materials, policies, handbooks, and training resources.
· Maintain volunteer database, track volunteer hours, and prepare volunteer reports.
· Conduct volunteer surveys and coordinate volunteer appreciation and recognition activities.
· Supervise volunteers during agency events and community activities.
Community Outreach & Engagement
· Coordinate and participate in community outreach, awareness, prevention education, and engagement activities, including evenings and weekends as needed.
· Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, schools, healthcare providers, and civic groups.
· Promote the organization's programs, services, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives.
· Serve as a Brand Ambassador by increasing community awareness and encouraging volunteerism, sponsorships, partnerships, donations, and community involvement.
· Collaborate with staff and community partners to develop outreach initiatives and educational programming.
· Identify and maintain locations for distribution of promotional materials throughout the community.
Fundraising & Events
· Support planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, awareness campaigns, volunteer appreciation events, and community engagement activities.
· Assist in developing fundraising campaigns and solicitation materials.
· Create marketing content supporting fundraising initiatives, including website content, newsletters, direct mail appeals, and social media campaigns.
· Coordinate volunteers and community partners for organizational events.
Strategic Partnerships
· Develop and strengthen relationships with businesses, civic organizations, community partners, and local stakeholders.
· Identify opportunities for sponsorships, collaborative programming, volunteer recruitment, and community engagement.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate records of marketing, volunteer, outreach, and community engagement activities within organizational databases.
· Prepare monthly reports on marketing, communications, volunteer, outreach, and social media metrics.
· Lead implementation of marketing and community engagement goals identified in the strategic plan.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
· Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, volunteer management, community engagement, public relations, or nonprofit development.
· Experience managing websites using WordPress or similar platforms.
· Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp.
· Experience coordinating volunteers and community outreach initiatives preferred.
· Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media management platforms.
· Strong public speaking, presentation, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Highly organized with strong project management and multitasking abilities.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Understanding of and empathy for survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
· Reliable transportation, valid Florida driver's license, and ability to travel throughout the service area.
· Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
· Complete FCASV Advocacy Core Training (ACT) within 30 days of hire.
· Successfully pass a Level II FDLE background screening and E-Verify.
Salary : $20 - $22
