Job Description
Vicky Oh is a custom woodworking shop in Honolulu specializing in high-quality, handcrafted solid wood furniture, lighting, and custom wood pieces.
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented woodworker to join our team.
We welcome applicants with woodworking experience as well as those with basic woodworking knowledge who are motivated to learn and develop their skills.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a construction carpentry, framing, or cabinet installation position.
Our work focuses on solid wood furniture making, using hardwoods such as Walnut, White Oak, Ash, Mahogany, and other quality materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building custom solid wood furniture and woodworking pieces.
- Cut, shape, assemble, sand, and finish wood components.
- Operate woodworking tools and machinery safely.
- Follow drawings, measurements, and instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
- Work carefully and pay attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Previous woodworking experience OR basic knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with measuring, cutting, sanding, and assembling wood.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Willingness to learn new techniques.
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Professional furniture-making experience is a plus, but not required.
We are willing to train the right person who has basic woodworking skills, a genuine interest in furniture making, and a desire to grow with our company.
