Vicksburg Community Schools, a premier K-12 public school district in southern Kalamazoo county, is accepting applications for a Secondary School English as a Second Language Teacher. Our District serves over 2600 students in one high school, an alternative high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools and employs approximately 160 teachers and 200 other employees to meet the needs of our students. Job Purpose:
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher provides direct specialized instruction and teacher consultation for the purposes of developing the English language proficiency of students eligible for English Learner services per the State of Michigan. The ESL Teacher works directly with the District English Learner Coordinator in the provision of programs and services to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; Master’s Degree preferred.
- A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement or approval in English as a Second Language K-12; or eligible for permit. t.
