Manager, FP&A

About the Role

VICE Media is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional to join the team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving our financial strategy, overseeing the budgeting and planning process, and providing critical insights to senior leadership. This position requires a collaborative partner who can navigate complex financial models, manage liquidity, and act as a key advisor to our business unit leaders to drive growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Budgeting

• Own the overall budgeting and planning process, with support from the Controller and CFO.
• Update and maintain a consolidated financial model incorporating multiple LOB budget submissions.
• Proactively flag concerns for LOB CFOs, the Controller, and/or the CFO as needed.
• Challenge and stretch LOB CFOs and principals.
• Assist in the creation and tracking of financial and non-financial KPIs with month-end close.
• Prepare consolidated analysis and presentations for senior leadership.

Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and deliver reporting packages (with the Controller).
• Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to senior leadership.
• Understand key business drivers and sources of variance, and provide clear commentary.
• Organize and review monthly operating reports from LOBs.
• Partner with Accounting to align budget with month-end close results and ensure consistency in reporting.

Treasury

• Manage liquidity analyses and cash position reporting.
• Update and maintain the 13-week cash flow model; consolidate LOB inputs and manage the submission cadence and communications.
• Analyze variances between forecasted and actual cash flows.
• Support treasury operations and cash management processes.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support preparation of presentations, board decks, and executive reporting materials.
• Perform ad hoc financial, commercial, and operational analysis as required, including corporate development activities such as M&A support and pipeline tracking.
• Support strategic planning and decision-making.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA a plus.
• 5–10 years’ experience in FP&A, restructuring, investment banking, or Big 4 accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills, including SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH, and array formulas.
• Ability to produce accurate, well-organized, and clearly formatted work suitable for sharing directly with senior stakeholders and third parties.
• Experience building and maintaining complex, consolidated financial models across multiple business lines.
• Comfortable operating across a range of projects—from large strategic initiatives to detailed, tactical analysis.
• Performs with strong attention to detail and a critical eye, raising issues openly and on a timely basis.
