What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist (Full-Time) position at VICARS LANDING?
At Vicar’s Landing, our Occupational Therapists help residents live more independently, safely, and confidently every day. In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with residents to build practical skills that support daily living—from dressing and mobility to strength, coordination, and overall well-being.

What You’ll Do
- Evaluate residents and develop individualized therapy plans focused on improving daily living skills and independence
- Provide hands-on therapy to support mobility, coordination, strength, and functional abilities
- Help residents adapt to physical or cognitive challenges by introducing tools, techniques, and modifications
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and resident goals
- Document evaluations, treatments, and progress in an accurate and timely manner
- Educate residents and families on therapy plans, safety, and techniques for continued success
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Ensure a safe environment by following infection control, safety, and compliance standards
Support residents with dignity, patience, and respect in every interaction
Qualifications:
Must Have Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Active Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida
- Strong understanding of functional therapy, rehabilitation, and patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess needs and develop customized, goal-oriented care plans
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience working with the geriatric population
- Background in senior living, rehab, or healthcare settings
- Experience with adaptive equipment and assistive technologies
- 1–2 years of clinical experience
