Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

Facilitates the operation of Accounts Payable processing and payment, review payroll, and supports the Senior Accountant with various day to day accounting related tasks and efficient monthly closing procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enter approved vendor invoices into accounting software.  Assist in the timely distribution and mailing of weekly payables. Set up and maintain files for vendors. 
• Process vendor ACH consumer payments.
• Review and submit bi-weekly payrolls.
• Assist in the timely distribution of member monthly statements to include data input of member ancillary charges.
• Prepare and submit monthly member ACH payment file to bank for accounts receivable payments.
• Enter cash receipts data into billing software.
• Work with accounting department team to ensure that all deliverables are met.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Perform routine filing and assist in special projects as needed.
• Annual reporting and reconciliation of member contributions for the holiday fund.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma required, Associates or related degree preferred
• 3 years of experience in an accounting role
• Demonstrated Accounting experience in healthcare, hospitality or related field is preferred.

Skills, Abilities & Competencies:

• Technical Accounting Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and general ledger management
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing financial documents, reconciliations, and reports
• Proficiency in Accounting Software: Experience with Business Central is preferred; advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications
• Ethical Judgment and Integrity: Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical standards in financial reporting and handling sensitive information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk hear, and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be able to work at heights.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus as well as work on a computer for extended periods of time.  The employee must be able to communicate verbally with others on the phone or in person.
