Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assists in organizing the resources needed to meet the production schedule, quality, cost and safety objectives.
- Ensures the efficient operation of assigned production lines. Will start and stop production lines, correct jams, and make minor adjustments to the packaging equipment.
- Monitors the product for compliance with quality standards.
- Assists with maintaining inventory control of packaging materials which include the auditing of materials received from the distribution center and the reconciliation of materials after production is complete.
- Understand and operate the Statistical Process Control (SPC) system.
- Provide verification activities of critical packaging operations to include weights, torques, AQL checks and any other specified quality check.
- Perform in-process/finished product quality checks during Packaging processes.
- Obtain samples for QC testing and Stability.
- Determine the need to place material on QA hold, and issue re-inspection, reprocess, and rework as directed by procedure.
- Ensure that all safety rules and regulations are followed.
- Maintains the packaging area to be in compliance with good housekeeping standards.
- Maintains a variety of forms and logs. Maintains First In-First Out as supplied from Materials Department
- Can perform all of the duties of a Lead Operator Trainee, Line Operator I and II.
- Performs Material Handler duties when necessary.
- Assists in the training of temporaries and new employees to have a highly skilled, productive crew.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Minimum 10 to 12 years related experience.
