Hospice Volunteer – ViaQuest Hospice
ViaQuest Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families. Volunteers support our hospice team by providing companionship to patients or assisting with administrative tasks that help our care team serve patients effectively.
Patient Care Volunteer Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients and families
- Engage patients through conversation, reading, or quiet presence
- Support patients and caregivers as directed by the hospice team
- Report observations or concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospice guidelines
Administrative Volunteer Responsibilities
- Assist with office support tasks such as filing, organizing, and preparing materials
- Help with mailings, data entry, and general office projects
- Support the hospice team with administrative needs as assigned
General Responsibilities
- Participate in volunteer orientation and required trainings
- Complete assignments as directed by the Volunteer Coordinator
- Maintain clear communication with the hospice team
- Follow hospice policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- Desire to serve others and support hospice patients and families
- Willingness to learn and participate in training
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required for patient visits
