The Program Manager leads cross-functional new product introduction programs from contract review through launch and early production. This role owns the plan, schedule, risks, actions and customer communication to ensure we deliver on time, at the expected cost, and at the required quality. This role will coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and customer teams to drive clear decision and fast issue resolution. This opportunity is on-site only.
Program Manager, NPI Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Lead NPI programs and contract reviews end-to-end, including defining project scope, establishing deliverables, and developing comprehensive plans
- Ensure organizational readiness for product launch, including materials availability, documentation updates, training and quality controls
- Oversee non-recurring engineering budgets for tool expenditures and launch related costs
- Build and manage detailed program schedules, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and risk areas
- Drive day-to-day program execution, ensuring all functions meet commitments and project targets
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment through structured meeting cadences, milestone reviews, and status updates
- Serve as primary point of contact regarding updates, technical discussions, and issue resolution
- Support capital expenditure (CER) justification, approvals, and documentation
- Support early production ramp up and kick off programs, troubleshooting to align internal teams and customers on cope timelines and success measures
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Operations on processes, validations, tooling requirements, equipment needs, and capacity planning
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and lead risk reviews throughout program cycle
- Works with Viant Medical Customers and Customer Operations Management (COM) in the establishment and management of Kanban and Consigned Finished Goods Inventory programs, and ensures that proper Demand and Capacity Plans are implemented to support these requirements at their site
- Participate and drive lean manufacturing and a lean culture to support continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency
- Responsible for inventory accuracy (raw, outside services, WIP and finished goods) and cycle count programs. Working closely with finance, maintaining appropriate inventory levels to meet customer demand while meeting Viant Medical financial objectives
- Responsible for the planning systems for all raw materials, internal operations, subcontract operations and outside supporting services
- Manage change control, including evaluating proposed changes for impact to cost, schedule, quality, and customer complaints
- Responsible for production order execution and working with operations to ensure that our on-time delivery, cycle time and fill- rate goals are met
- Explore new technologies and processes, to reduce non-value-added procurement and planning activities
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
- 5 Years of Experience in increasing levels of responsibility within Program Management
- 3-5 Years of Program/Project Management Experience
- PMP Certificate a plus
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Skills/Competencies:
- Experience in the Medical Device Industry strongly preferred
- Advanced understanding of Program Management
- Ability to work independently and with fellow team members
- Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data
- Excellent problem-solving skills: the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions and arrive at effective solutions
- Data and Metric oriented for decision making
Physical Requirements:
- Performs light, non-strenuous administrative activities on a regular basis.
- Occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and carries up to 10 lbs.; may involve minimal bending, pushing/pulling, crawling, climbing, balancing, or standing for extended periods.
- Requires visual acuity to distinguish colors, assess spatial relationships, and focus on fine details (e.g., using microscopes or similar equipment).

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $100k-$125k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
