The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of duties to maintain, repair, and improve the physical infrastructure of the facility. This role involves hands-on maintenance across multiple disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and perform repairs / upgrades as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and electrical systems.
- Perform minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, painting, fixture mounting / exchanging, drywall repairs etc.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service tickets, and emergency repairs.
- Assemble, install, or repair furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
- Ensure that building systems are operating efficiently and comply with safety standards.
- Work with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Assist with office moves, furniture relocations, and space setups.
- Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common areas.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in daily operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA, building codes, etc.).
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA 608 Certification (for HVAC roles)
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Work Environment:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
- May involve working in noisy, dirty, or hot/cold environments.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on operational needs. CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience
We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $22.95-$25.36. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.”
