Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting, Management & Month-End Close
- Prepare and deliver accurate month-end financial packages
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly billings
- Approve monthly journal entries and maintain accounting accuracy
- Review and approve contractor invoices and capital expenditures (Capex)
- Ensure MFP is current to facilitate timely vendor payments and customer billings
- Collaborate with leadership to manage bill rates and target utilization hours
- Maintain and analyze weekly utilization tracking reports
- Monitor labor costs relative to bill rates and utilization targets
- Report on revenue capacity and individual contribution margins
- Review and approve purchase orders
- Lead the development and execution of the annual budgeting process
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and monthly rolling outlooks
- Deliver insights and analysis to support strategic planning and performance reviews
- Continuously evaluate financial and operational processes for efficiency and scalability
- Implement improvements that align with business objectives and evolving needs
- Review and approve customer proposals, purchase orders (POs), and scope changes
- Conduct financial assessments of proposals and establish deposit requirements
- Provide final financial sign-off on customer-facing proposals
- Partner with program management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align financial planning with operational goals
- Facilitate effective communication between business functions and shared service teams (e.g., Accounting, HR, IT)
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior-level financial leader
- Strong background in time and materials-based businesses
- Experience in medical device design, development and new product introduction
- Deep FP&A expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Demonstrated ability to review and assess contracts, proposals, and financial documents
- Track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
- Comfortable working with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives
- Experienced in communicating directly with customers in a professional setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA preferred
