The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up CNC lathe machines for production runs.
- Load raw materials and verify tooling configurations.
- Interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Make offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
- Follow all required work and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Load component materials into product specific tools
- Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to assure conformance to requirements
- Perform other functions as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of CNC Lathe machining experience
- Experience with one of the following lathes: Makino, Haas, or Mazak
- CMM training a plus
- Must have proficient knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection equipment and techniques
- Basic shop math skills required
- Proficient knowledge of reading blueprints and/or operation sheets
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with small precision parts
