The Senior Program Manager (SPM) is responsible for leading the execution, strategy, and delivery of New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, cost reduction initiatives, integrations, insourcing projects, and strategic corporate programs across Viant Medical’s manufacturing network.
This role requires a deep understanding of plastics manufacturing—specifically injection molding, strong program management leadership, and experience working with automation and regulated manufacturing environments (medical device or automotive).
You will lead cross functional teams, guide technical and operational workstreams, manage customer relationships, and ensure programs meet Viant’s standards for quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Work Model: Remote from any of these US based locations: Chicago, IL - Boston, MA - Miami, FL - Texas - Southern California.
  • Travel Required: 1 to 2 weeks per month
Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams on key Strategic projects including but not limited to New Product Introduction, Transfer, Cost Reduction, Integrations, Insourcing, and Strategic Corporate Programs.
  • Primary point of contact and communication between Viant and the Customer.
  • Define the scope, budget, requirements, and deliverables of all assigned projects. Document and communicate internally and externally as needed.
  • Ensuring the planning, coordination, execution, tracking, reporting and closure.
  • Using Microsoft Project software tool, development of a fully Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) including all required tasks with key milestones identified and tracked.
  • Obtain functional department commitment / buy-in to the schedule and budget
  • Issue/Risk management to include development and tracking/reporting of mitigation plans.
  • Program budget setting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Assure activities will meet Viant requirements (SOP’s), FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Goal setting and on-time delivery of Viant and customer milestone deliverables
  • Project reporting requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Provide Weekly Status Reporting for assigned Projects
  • Provide Monthly Project Review status for assigned Projects as scheduled.
  • Initiate corrective action review meetings when the project schedule is not being met.
  • Working with the Project Team and Plant Management develop and document recovery plans and corrective actions into the IMS.
  • Communicate the revised plans and schedule to the Customer.
  • Utilize and steward Viant’s ViaLaunch program management process
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements

Education/ Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Plastics, Polymer Science, Mechanical, or closely related discipline preferred).
  • PMP Certification (PMI) required.
  • Bilingual English–Spanish, with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse teams.
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of post-college experience.
  • 5 years of Program Management or Engineering Management in a manufacturing environment (medical device or automotive strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with plastics and injection molding processes including tooling, mold qualification, materials, and quality systems.
  • Experience with automated manufacturing processes or exposure to automation equipment/processes.
Skills/Competencies:
  • Project management skills; demonstrated use of PMI methodology.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influential management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization, build teams and relationships.
  • Experience leading projects with multiple cross-functional team members and functional management.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to various levels of management and employees.
  • Capability to understand customer requirements and incorporate into business decisions
  • Solid problem solving, mentoring, training and coaching experience.
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and MS TEAMS) is required.
