Position: Embryologist Trainee
Job Description:
The Embryologist Trainee will be a unique position for an individual to come into a world-leading embryology lab and be trained. The individual will learn both basic and advanced embryology techniques with the goal of becoming a fully trained embryologist. The long-term goal of this position will be for the individual to become fully competent in all aspects of ICSI including semen prep, embryo cryopreservation, embryo grading, embryo biopsy and culture.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparing and handling semen samples
- Oocyte maturation
- Embryo culture – Day 7-9 blastocyst selection and grading
- Embryo freezing and thawing
- Day 4 checks and moves
- All media preparation
- Cleaning, sterilizing and preparing lab equipment
- Basic knowledge of incubator care and maintenance
- Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment such as, centrifuges, pipettes, different microscopes, dry bath, etc.
- Ensuring lab is well stocked, clean and organized
- Routine weekend work
- Occasional night work
Requirements:
- BSc/BA in biology, medical or related field; or PhD in biology, medical or related field; or additional experience in a related field that is highly desired by our clinical staff. Additional qualifications may be considered.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
