SUMMARY:
The Costing Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate cost data to support financial planning, operational decision-making, and business strategy. This role partners cross-functionally to evaluate cost structures, identify variances, and provide insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and informed investment decisions across products and operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or another related field. 1-3 years’ experience as a costing or financial analyst; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to work independently in a high-volume contracting environment. Ability to analyze a problem and recommend solutions, problem solving skills. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze and develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, overhead, equipment, and production, using historical data, actual performance, and standard costing methodologies.
- Evaluate variances between estimated, standard, and actual costs; identify drivers and provide actionable insights to improve cost performance.
- Partner with operations, procurement, and finance to gather cost inputs, validate assumptions, and improve cost accuracy across products and processes.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes through cost modeling, analysis, and financial impact assessments.
- Develop and maintain cost databases and reporting tools to track trends, identify risks, and support decision-making.
- Conduct profitability and margin analysis at the product, customer, or project level to inform business strategies.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings.
- Assist in preparing business cases and financial models to support new business opportunities and capital investments.
- Ensure costing processes and documentation comply with internal controls and financial standards.
- May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
