Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician supports the Quality team by monitoring production processes and performing quality checks to ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and internal standards.
This role focuses on accuracy, compliance enforcement, and real-time observation — ensuring that procedures are followed, materials meet specifications, and documentation is complete and correct.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where consistency and accountability are critical.
Primary Responsibilities
In-Process Observation
- Walk the production floor to verify adherence to written procedures and SOPs
- Observe operations across production rooms to ensure consistency and compliance
- Inspect components in use to confirm they meet required specifications
- Review production records during runs to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Utilize ATP testing (Hygiena system) to verify cleanliness of food contact surface.
Raw Material Inspection
- Collect representative samples from each incoming lot of raw materials
- Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) against ViaCore product specifications
- Determine if additional testing is required (microbial, identity, purity, etc.)
- Communicate any discrepancies or concerns to the Quality team
Document Review & Quality Support
- Review pre- and post-production MMRs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Approve production premixes where applicable
- Support material reviews, deviations, and investigations
- Assist in reviewing and maintaining SOPs and quality documentation
- Review product specification sheets for accuracy and alignment
Label Verification & Control
- Verify all labels used in production match approved artwork and product specifications
- Confirm correct label version is used for each production run
- Inspect printed labels for accuracy, legibility, and quality prior to use
- Cross-check labels against approved files and production documentation
- Escalate discrepancies immediately before production begins
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in quality control or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Proficiency in Gmail and Google Workspace
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in dietary supplements, food, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 111 (cGMP for dietary supplements)
- Experience with quality systems, inspections, and documentation review
