Position: Employment & Training Supervisor 1
Location: Ledyard, CT
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $26.90 Per Hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends
Summary:
- The DMHAS Supervisor is responsible for promoting and expanding employment opportunities for individuals receiving DMHAS services who experience mental health challenges or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role maintains an active caseload while ensuring participants have access to employment, job training, and educational opportunities. The Supervisor provides oversight of the DMHAS program with limited supervision and is responsible for managing and supporting all assigned staff. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and relationship-building skills to successfully collaborate with employers, community partners, and service providers. Candidates must have previous supervisory experience. Prior experience in the mental health field is strongly preferred. Individuals with backgrounds in human services, DMH services, direct or residential care, job coaching, and career counseling are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience, or
Associate’s Degree with 3 years of experience, or
Bachelor’s Degree with 1–2 years of experience
Previous supervisory experience required.
Prior experience with substance use disorders and mental health experience preferred.
Fluency in Spanish a plus, but not required.
Requirements
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, data entry, email, and internet use
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, time management, and leadership abilities
Ability and willingness to network and build professional relationships
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, access to a personal vehicle, and willingness to transport participants
Ability to travel within the region to residential settings, employers, offices, and community organizations
