What are the responsibilities and job description for the FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER position at Via Sofia's?
Via Sofia's is looking for a dependable, responsible adult to join our team as a Front of House Manager!
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in keeping things organized, and is comfortable taking the lead when needed.
This is a hands-on management position — you'll still work as a cashier, but you'll also be the person helping keep our front of house running smoothly. Via Sofia's is a fast-casual restaurant. We are open daily 11 am to 8 pm.
What You'll Do:
- Work as a cashier and provide friendly, helpful customer service
- Supervise and support our front-of-house cashiers
- Schedule front-of-house employees
- Help find coverage when someone calls in or doesn't show up
- Make sure the dining room, counter, restrooms and other front-of-house areas are clean and taken care of
- Make sure front-of-house employees are completing their assigned duties
- Help train and support team members
- Handle customer questions and concerns professionally
- Deliver catering orders when needed
- Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
- Jump in wherever you're needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly
What We're Looking For:
- 18 years old
- Reliable and dependable
- Friendly and comfortable working with customers
- Able to lead and direct other employees
- Organized and able to take initiative
- Previous restaurant, cashier or supervisory experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
- Flexible availability
- Able to work approximately 25–35 hours per week

If a cashier calls in, you help figure out the coverage. If the dining room needs attention, you make sure it's taken care of. If the front of house gets busy, you jump in and help. And when things are running smoothly, you help make sure they stay that way.
