Position Summary: Via Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor working Tuesday - Saturday (noon). The Processor is responsible for answering basic lending questions from members; performing a variety of support duties related to the lending function. Responsible for researching background information on loan applicants, ordering reports, and mailing time sensitive documents. Locate any missing documents/paperwork pertinent to the processing of loan application. Maintain and enhance working relationships with Realtors, and title company representatives, etc.

Overview: The scheduled work week is Tuesday - Saturday (noon), unless otherwise specified, working Tuesday - Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Friday 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:15 a.m. - noon.

Essential Functions:
- Accepts application from Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) and completes initial assessment of and required supporting documentation for missing or incomplete data.
- Orders third party services and works with vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.
- Reviews title commitments to determine all requirements needed for lien perfection. Including the review of judgements, public records, required payoffs of other existing liens.
- Images application and all support documents for underwriter submission.
- Maintains an underwriter rotation for assigning loans to specific underwriters for decision.
- Monitors file throughout the lending process and inform MLO of anything needed.
- Works with MLO, title companies, realtors and members to schedule the loan for closing.
- Obtain and verify payoffs required at closing.
- Verifies Via CU is properly listed as mortgagee and that all policy requirements have been met on all required insurance policies prior to closing.
- Coordinates final details with the title company and prepares the Initial Closing Disclosure.
- Prepare all closing documents.
- Maintains closing and funding calendar for mortgage department.
- Receives completed closing packet from the title company.
- Completes the funding and transfer from the Mortgage Loan Origination System to the core system.
- Verifies and images complete file to CU imaging system.
- Completes required tracking records at the loan level.
- Records mortgages not closed at title companies.
- Maintains Recorded Mortgage and Final Title Policy Tracking and weekly reports to management.
- Submit required PMI for activation of quoted coverage.
- Maintains Allied insurance tracking for all mortgages for hazard and flood insurances.
- Input and update data into cu computer system.
- Assemble and verify loan documents for accuracy.
- Maintain new and paid mortgage loan files.
- Ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, etc.
- Gather additional data when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to credit union policies and procedures.
- Inform members of decisions in a timely manner, including denial letters.
- Cross-sell credit union products and services.
- Assist members with the loan application process.
- Notify vendor to place security interest of credit union on title document.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prior loan processing experience preferred
Computer Skills:
- Excellent computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc),
Certifications & Licenses:
Must have a valid driver's license
