Position Description:
The Accounting Specialist – Payroll is a key part of the finance team and is responsible for the weekly processing of payroll along with all tasks relating to accounts receivable. They will serve as back-up to the Controller and Accounting Specialist – A/P. Based out of the Winooski, VT office.

Qualifications:
- Two-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, plus 5 years of experience is preferred
- Demonstrated payroll management experience
- Ability to analyze and report information
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

- Problem solving ability, analytical and numeracy skills
- Works collaboratively across all VHV departments
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: review and process timecards and reimbursements for weekly payroll.
- Process necessary payroll deductions such as child support and garnishments each week.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies that may come up.
- Timely uploads of direct deposits and HSA to banking institutions each week.
- Ensure paychecks are sent out weekly.
- Maintain/update Standard Operating Procedures for payroll.
- Update timecard power ranking weekly.
- Receipt and processing of daily deposit and ACH payments.
- Manage monthly construction billing and collections, including lien waiver requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to ensure efficiency in processing tasks.
- May perform other related duties as required.
- Crosstrain and provide support to finance team members.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100%) of the workday

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
