We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic to play a key role in our garage operations, with a clear and accelerated path to Fleet Service Manager within 2–3 months for the right candidate.
This position is ideal for a skilled mechanic ready to step into leadership and take on greater responsibility quickly.
What You’ll Do
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on company vehicles
- Support the Fleet Service Manager with daily shop operations and technician oversight
- Help manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure fleet readiness and safety
- Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and vendor coordination
- Maintain accurate work orders using maintenance tracking software
- Collaborate with operations staff to ensure vehicle availability
- Learn and assume management-level responsibilities in preparation for promotion
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of hands-on mechanic experience (medium- or heavy-duty preferred)
- Prior lead technician or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable using computerized maintenance systems
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required
- Dependable, professional, and able to lead by example
