Environmental Scientist- on call

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB has an opening for an on call Environmental Scientist to join our Vermont office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of state and federal environmental permits for public and private-sector projects
• Research and interpret environmental laws and regulations
• Gather and interpret required environmental project-related data
• Effectively interact with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
  
  

Skills And Attributes

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with others
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
  
  

Qualifications

• BS in a natural science-related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Biology, Landscape Architecture, Fisheries and Wildlife, Ecology, Natural Resources)
• OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required for site investigation & remediation services
• Internship experience preferred
• 0-3 year of fieldwork experience in natural habitats, whether through coursework or professional experience
