ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB has an opening for an on call Environmental Scientist to join our Vermont office.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of state and federal environmental permits for public and private-sector projects
- Research and interpret environmental laws and regulations
- Gather and interpret required environmental project-related data
- Effectively interact with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with others
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- BS in a natural science-related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Biology, Landscape Architecture, Fisheries and Wildlife, Ecology, Natural Resources)
- OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required for site investigation & remediation services
- Internship experience preferred
- 0-3 year of fieldwork experience in natural habitats, whether through coursework or professional experience
