What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class 2 Electrician position at VFP INC?
Responsible for the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures according to VFP standards.
- Must possess knowledge of applicable electrical codes
- Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Must provide working leadership to others in the department
- Must offers suggestions for products, manufacturing procedures, and documentation improvements
- Must interpret control prints and hook-up all controls
- Perform Electrician B job duties when needed
- Must have the ability to read blueprints with minimal assistance
- Must have the ability to run conduit, install wireway, wire AC units and install lighting fixtures
- Must have the ability to mount and hook-up transfer switches and wire generators
- Must have the ability to install load centers, EVC boxes, and drill holes
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must maintain good housekeeping practices to include keeping the work area clean and neat and make sure aisles are clear of equipment, cords, tow motors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to effectively present information to customers and other employees
- Ability to perform basic mathematical formulas
- Ability to understand and follow instructions given verbally, written, or in diagram form
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the electrical trade and necessary safety precautions
- Skill in the use and care of tools and/or equipment
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Associate’s Degree or Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years
