Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Perform general labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and cleaning work areas to ensure safety and efficiency
- Support skilled tradespeople by handling hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation under supervision
- Aid in the installation of building materials including drywall, flooring, tile, cabinetry, trim carpentry, stucco, plastering, caulking, and window installation
- Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to understand project requirements and assist with precise material placement
- Conduct basic construction inspections to ensure work aligns with safety protocols and project specifications
- Follow safety procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment on all construction sites
Skills
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment in outdoor or construction settings
- Knowledge of building construction processes including framing, trim carpentry, flooring installation, tile laying, and stucco application
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and construction plans for accurate execution of tasks
- Ability to perform plumbing and electrical work or support these trades is a plus
- Proficiency in using Bluebeam software for reviewing plans or managing documentation is advantageous
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards throughout all activities
- Experience with construction management practices such as estimating or site supervision is beneficial but not required
- Ability to operate equipment like forklifts or other machinery safely when trained
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques and procedures
