What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Full Charge Bookkeeper position at Vetted360?
Position Overview
A Century City–based real estate investment firm is seeking a full-time, long-term Senior Full Charge Bookkeeper to own and execute the complete bookkeeping cycle across its real estate and commercial operations. This is a deeply hands-on role — the right candidate handles all the details, takes pride in owning the work, and brings accountant-level judgment to the execution.
This is not an oversight or review role. The successful candidate will personally manage interrelated sets of books in QuickBooks Desktop, handle all aspects of the accounting cycle from transaction entry through financial reporting, and serve as the firm's primary day-to-day accounting resource. A part-time Senior Accountant will provide strategic oversight and advisory support, but the full charge bookkeeper is responsible for all execution.
Work Locations & Schedule
This position requires flexibility across two primary locations:
- Century City Office – primary accounting and administrative base
- North Orange County – a large-scale commercial property and business operation; visits expected 1 time per week
Core in-office hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Remaining hours may be worked remotely. Must respond to emails and calls within 1-2 hours during business hours.
About the Business
The firm encompasses a portfolio of real estate investment entities managed from the Century City office, as well as North Orange County operations. The Orange County location is a substantial business with its own on-site management team. The senior bookkeeper must become deeply familiar with both operations, understand each location’s nuances, and serve as a reliable resource for ownership and on-site management alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile 20 interrelated sets of books in QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring proper use of coding, classes and accuracy across scheduled payments, draws, and rental entities
- Record, review, and correct asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries
- Manage inter-entity cash flows and ensure accuracy of all transactions
- Identify, prevent, correct errors such as voided/reissued checks and misclassified entries
- Prepare and file tax-related documents including 1099s, sales tax, personal property tax, and other compliance filings
- Prepare annual tax packages for the outside accounting firm handling income tax compliance for all entities
- Generate accurate financial reports including balance sheets, P&Ls, and trial balances
- Process payroll and verify accuracy of submissions
- Develop a thorough understanding of the North Orange County Retail Center operations and serve as a knowledgeable resource for that location's financial needs
- Work collaboratively with a part-time Senior Accountant who provides strategic oversight; prepare clean, organized financials that support their review and advisory work
- Document bookkeeping processes and, once fully acclimated, delegate task-based work to part-time support — while retaining full execution accountability
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for principals, providing timely answers within set expectations
- Collaborate effectively with on-site staff and ownership to reduce inefficiencies and delays
- Support ownership with special projects and financial analysis as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BS required)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity work
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop with proven experience managing complex, interrelated books
- Strong Microsoft Office experience, including superior Excel skills.
- Strong command of accounting fundamentals: debits/credits, reconciliations, financial reporting, and principles beyond data entry
- Experience working with or for high-net-worth individuals or family office–style operations preferred
- Genuine ownership mentality — takes pride in doing the work, not delegating it; this is an execution role first
- Comfortable working alongside a part-time Senior Accountant who provides strategic oversight
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; self-directed and proactive
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and responsiveness — especially when working with principals and ownership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage confidently with ownership and management
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies without being directed to do so
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Must be adaptable, even-keeled, and able to maintain composure in high-pressure or interpersonally demanding situations
Compensation & Benefits
The firm values experience, maturity, and the ability to balance professionalism with discretion in serving high-net-worth clients. The position offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and depth of experience.
Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Paid Holidays
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
