Security Guard - Seasonal Event (Dark Harbor)

Position Overview

VetSecHD is seeking experienced and dependable Security Guards to join our team for the

upcoming Dark Harbor Seasonal Event. This is a fast-paced event security position requiring

professionalism, strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to

work effectively with large crowds.

Candidates with previous event security experience are strongly preferred. We are looking

for individuals who can commit to working the full event season, from September 18 through

November 2, 2026.

Selected candidates must be available to attend mandatory orientation and training prior to or

at the start of the event.

Schedule & Availability

The position will begin with three consecutive scheduled workdays. As the event progresses,

Security Guards may be scheduled for up to five days per week or a full event schedule,

depending on operational needs.

Because this is a seasonal event position, reliable attendance and schedule flexibility are

essential. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to the entire event period.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Security Guards will be responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and professional

environment for guests, employees, vendors, and event personnel.

Responsibilities may include:

• Monitor assigned areas, entrances, exits, and restricted-access locations.
• Conduct access control and verify authorized entry when required.
• Assist with crowd control and maintain orderly guest movement throughout the event.
• Observe guest activity and remain alert for suspicious, unsafe, or disruptive behavior.
• Enforce event rules, security procedures, and client policies in a professional manner.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and

requests for assistance.

• De-escalate conflicts and difficult situations using professionalism and sound judgment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, fellow Security Guards, event staff, and
• emergency personnel.
• Provide guests with directions and general assistance while maintaining assigned security
• responsibilities.
• Immediately report safety hazards, suspicious activity, injuries, incidents, or policy
• violations to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete accurate incident reports and other required security documentation.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Remain at the assigned post until properly relieved or directed by a supervisor.
• Perform additional security-related duties as assigned based on event and operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideal candidates should have:
• Previous security experience; event security experience is strongly preferred.
• A valid California Guard Card, as required for the position.
• Experience working in high-traffic, entertainment, festival, amusement, or large-event environments is a plus.
• Strong communication, observation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in crowded or high-pressure situations.
• Dependable transportation and a strong record of punctuality and attendance.
• Ability to follow instructions, security procedures, and the established chain of command.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a security team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on event
• needs.
• Ability to commit to the full Dark Harbor event season from September 18 through November 1, 2026.
• Ability to attend all required orientation and training sessions.

Physical & Work Requirements

Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of an event Security Guard, which may

include prolonged periods of standing and walking, working in crowded environments, and

working outdoors or in varying weather conditions. The position may require employees to

remain on their feet for the majority of their assigned shift.

Compensation

$18.00 -$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
