The learning objectives of this internship are to:
- Research and make initial recommendations in support of technical decisions regarding the operations and maintenance of engineered systems and components.
- This includes parts replacement, code and regulatory interpretation, safety issues, process control, and preventive maintenance.
- Assist with the actions required to ensure the pipeline and associated facilities are designed and operated in a safe and environmentally sound manner and in compliance with codes and DOT regulations.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Learning Objectives:
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair pipeline equipment, including pumps, valves, and other related infrastructure
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental protection standards
- Project Management: Participate in or lead projects related to pipeline maintenance, upgrades, and repairs
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to pipeline operations
- Collaboration: Work with other departments and contractors to ensure smooth and efficient pipeline operations
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections
