Summary:
The Production Technician is responsible for preparing, adjusting, and maintaining designated line equipment to support efficient production. This role ensures that equipment changeovers, calibrations/verifications, and troubleshooting activities are performed safely, accurately, and in alignment with production schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up, changeover, and configure packaging Production line equipment (e.g., fillers, sealers,
cappers, labelers, conveyors) according to production requirements.
{Packaging: fillers, sealers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, checkweighers, induction sealers, seal checker, blister pack machine. Hot Extrusion: Mixing equipment, hopper feeders, extruders, chillers, conveyors, cutter, metal detectors, band sealers, scales. Injection Molding: Injection Molding Machines (IMM), conveyors, chillers, Temperature control units (TCU), hot runner controllers, valve gate timers, scales, injection molds overhead cranes. Soft Chew: mixing equipment, column loaders, extruders, cutters, metal detectors, scales. Gel/Topical/Cal-C-Preme: gel mixers, diaphragm pumps, lobe pumps, shear mixers, piston fillers, tube fillers, bottle fillers. Powder Bolus/Annex: v blenders, powder pressing equipment, z elevators, weight fillers, labelers, dust collection scales. Dry Mix: Ribbon blenders, v blender, screw auger, scales, bag sewer.}
• Perform start-up checks and verify machine functionality, safety features, and product
specifications prior to run.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues during production and escalate complex issues to
Maintenance as needed.
• Partner with Production Operators to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and
improve throughput.
• Interpret work orders, specifications, and batch records to ensure proper materials and
settings.(Leads and Material handling team will continue to provide and approve materials)
• Conduct basic preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, setups, and
adjustments.
• Maintain accurate documentation for set-ups on batch record and set up verification documents ,
equipment parameters, downtime, and repairs.
• Follow and reinforce safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality
standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to streamline set-ups, reduce changeover time, and
increase equipment reliability.
• Assist in training Operators on equipment operation (along with equipment specific LOTO
training) and basic troubleshooting.
Required Skills amp; Qualifications:
• Experience working with manufacturing or packaging line equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to use hand tools and interpret technical
instructions.
• Familiarity with pneumatic or basic electrical systems a plus.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve minor equipment issues under time constraints.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus. (Must be mechanically
inclined)
Work Environment amp; Physical Requirements:
• Manufacturing/production floor with exposure to moving equipment, noise, and standard industrial
environment.
• PPE required per safety policies.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, reach, twist.
• Ability to read and write in English and basic math skills.
• Ability to work in various temperature ranges.
