What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Custodian position at Vets Plus, Inc?
Job Summary : This position is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing various cleaning tasks per the Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SQF, and specific area guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the facility – office and production
- Clean the interior of buildings, including sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets/rugs, washing windows, wiping down walls, furniture and fixtures, etc.
- Maintain inventory of job-related products
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain restrooms
- Operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment such as floor buffers (daily)
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Assist in Production when Sanitation duties are complete for the shift
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently kneel, stoop, bend, stretch and lean
- Ability to perform repetitious motion tasks
- Ability to work with chemicals used in cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ability to perform visual inspections
Other Requirements:
- Work safely with appropriate chemicals used in the cleaning and sanitation process
- Prevent cross-contamination of food contact surfaces and non-food contact surfaces during the cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Assist in all documentation for cleaning and sanitation per Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Working Environment:
Work is mainly conducted indoors but there will be outdoor tasks such as trash removal. The position has exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, fumes/odors, wet and humid areas, temperature changes, and the potential for exposure to hazardous conditions and blood/body fluids.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience cleaning in a food manufacturing environment preferred
Pay: $18.00 per hour
