Vets & Pets Yoga is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans and rescuing animals—two groups that have given so much and deserve our best. We offer trauma-informed yoga classes designed for veterans, their families and supporters often incorporate rescue animals into the experience for added therapeutic benefit. Our mission is to promote healing, connection, and a second chance—for both people and pets.
Position Overview:
We are looking for Volunteer Teachers.
We’re seeking passionate, compassionate, and dependable yoga teachers to join our mission as volunteer instructors. Whether you’re newly certified or an experienced teacher, if you care deeply about giving back to those who’ve served and believe in the healing power of the human-animal bond, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead yoga classes (30–60 mins) in an all levels & trauma informed, veteran-friendly style
- Optionally incorporate animals into the practice at certain events/classes (e.g., dog yoga or animal-assisted classes)
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Work closely with our team to schedule classes that align with our outreach events, shelters, or veteran programs
- Advocate for mindfulness, resilience, and connection
Ideal Candidate:
- 200-hour RYT (or in training) — trauma-informed training a big plus
- Experience working with veterans, service members, or animal shelters is appreciated but not required
- Comfortable adapting classes for all levels and abilities
- Passionate about service, community healing, and animals
- Reliable, professional, and positive
