Are you an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician with hands-on experience servicing paint booths, air compressors, air handling systems, or industrial finishing equipment? 

VetPowered is seeking a skilled technician to support onsite maintenance services at Nellis Air Force Base. This position will help maintain industrial paint booths, media blasting equipment, breathing air systems, compressors, dryers, exhaust systems, and related equipment used in aircraft maintenance operations. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, breathing air systems, air handling equipment, and related systems  

  • Respond to service calls and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC-related issues  

  • Complete repairs and adjustments to help maintain safe and reliable equipment operation  

  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection checklists, and maintenance documentation  

  • Support onsite response requirements, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday service when needed  

Qualifications: 

  • Experienced industrial maintenance technician with a background in paint booths, spray finishing equipment, compressors, HVAC, air handling systems, or similar industrial equipment  

  • Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems  

  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements is a plus  

  • Experience working on a military installation or in a government environment is preferred  

  • Ability to meet the requirements for access to Nellis Air Force Base and provide the information needed for VetPowered to coordinate required credentials  

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable under VetPowered’s insurance requirements

Key Job Functions: 

At VetPowered, the Industrial Paint Booth Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing industrial paint booths, media blasters, air compressors, breathing air systems, and related equipment at Nellis Air Force Base. 

This position focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and documentation to support safe, reliable, and continuous equipment operation. The role requires strong technical experience, sound judgment, the ability to work independently, and clear communication with customers and internal teams. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: 

  • Inspect, service, and maintain industrial paint booths, media blast equipment, dust collection systems, compressors, dryers, air make-up units, exhaust fans, cooling systems, filtration equipment, breathing air systems, doors, and related equipment  

  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules, equipment manuals, and customer requirements  

  • Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and test mechanical and electrical components  

  • Identify worn, damaged, or failing parts and report recommended repairs  

  • Help maintain equipment in safe and reliable operating condition  

Troubleshooting and Repairs: 

  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC, and airflow-related issues  

  • Perform repairs and adjustments in a timely manner  

  • Troubleshoot compressors, air dryers, air purification systems, fans, motors, filters, doors, lighting, and related equipment  

  • Coordinate required parts, materials, tools, and outside services  

  • Escalate significant equipment issues to VetPowered supervision  

Service Calls and Response: 

  • Respond to scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency service requests  

  • Support after-hours, weekend, and holiday response requirements when needed  

  • Communicate with onsite customer representatives upon arrival and before leaving the work location  

  • Provide clear updates regarding work completed, equipment condition, and recommended next steps  

  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent VetPowered appropriately on customer sites  

Documentation: 

  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection checklists, maintenance history, and repair documentation  

  • Record equipment findings, adjustments, replaced parts, and current operating condition  

  • Complete required reports and supporting documentation within established deadlines  

  • Assist with equipment inventories and maintenance schedules  

  • Document recommended repairs and parts requirements  

Breathing Air and Testing Support: 

  • Support inspection and maintenance of breathing air compressors, purification systems, filters, and related equipment  

  • Coordinate quarterly OSHA Grade D breathing air testing  

  • Assist with sample collection when required  

  • Report testing issues or equipment deficiencies immediately  

Safety Compliance: 

  • Follow all applicable OSHA, environmental, customer, and Nellis Air Force Base safety requirements  

  • Use required personal protective equipment  

  • Identify and report unsafe conditions  

  • Safely work around industrial machinery, compressed air, electrical systems, paint, solvents, and maintenance chemicals  

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area  

Training and Support: 

  • Provide basic guidance to operators regarding equipment use and routine care  

  • Support internal teams with technical questions and troubleshooting  

  • Review equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, and technical documentation  

  • Participate in customer or company training as required  

Other Duties: 

  • Support field and facility maintenance activities  

  • Deliver or pick up parts, materials, tools, and supplies  

  • Safely operate and maintain an assigned company vehicle  

  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment  

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment  

  • Safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance  

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department and company goals  

Qualifications & Work Experience: 

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required  

  • Technical education, trade school training, or industry certifications are a plus  

  • Three or more years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial paint booths, spray finishing equipment, air compressors, HVAC or air handling systems, or similar industrial equipment  

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and airflow systems  

  • Working knowledge of motors, fans, compressors, dryers, filters, regulators, electrical controls, and industrial ventilation equipment  

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, and technical documents  

  • Familiarity with OSHA breathing air requirements and Grade D air quality testing is a plus  

  • Experience working on or around military installations is preferred  

  • Ability to successfully complete the required background and access process for work at Nellis Air Force Base and provide all information needed for VetPowered to coordinate the required credentials  

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable under VetPowered’s insurance requirements  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook  

  • Ability to work independently and respond to changing customer priorities  

  • Ability to maintain a primary residence within the Las Vegas service area throughout employment in this position

Important Notes 

Position Details: This is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position based in the Las Vegas area. The employee will perform onsite maintenance services at Nellis Air Force Base. Overtime, weekend work, holiday work, and on-call response may be required based on customer and operational needs. 

Driving Requirements: This position requires regular driving for company business. A company vehicle will be provided. Employment in this position is subject to verification of a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets VetPowered’s insurance requirements. 

Pay: This position includes base hourly pay, with eligibility for overtime and potential incentive compensation. 

The anticipated pay range for this Nevada-based position is $32.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, technical background, and applicable contract requirements. 

The actual compensation offer will consider the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Candidates whose experience differs from the listed requirements but who believe they can add value to VetPowered are encouraged to apply. 

Benefits and Perks: VetPowered makes comprehensive benefits available the first of the month following the date of hire. Options include medical coverage with a 50% employer contribution, dental and vision coverage with a 100% employer contribution, a 401(k) program with employer match up to $1,000 per year, eight paid holidays, and paid time off. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position. 

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, kneel, climb, and use their hands to handle tools, equipment, and controls. 

The employee must be able to: 

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds  

  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds without assistance  

  • Work around industrial machinery, elevated temperatures, noise, dust, paint, solvents, compressed air, and maintenance chemicals  

  • Use ladders and work in areas with limited access  

  • Wear required personal protective equipment  

  • Perform repetitive computer work when completing reports and documentation  

Work Environment: 

The employee works primarily at Nellis Air Force Base in aircraft maintenance hangars, corrosion control facilities, paint booth areas, equipment rooms, and related industrial environments. 

The work environment may include exposure to chemical, electrical, flammable, mechanical, respiratory, and compressed air hazards. The employee must follow all applicable VetPowered, OSHA, environmental, customer, and Nellis Air Force Base safety requirements.
