Job Summary
The Manager of Photometric Testing lights the way for the Decatur, GA team responsible for photometric testing of all Acuity Brands products. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the photometric team, including scheduling and review of testing, and performs tests as needed to ensure completion of testing in time to meet product group timelines. This Manager interacts with the optical and product engineering teams to identify testing needs and ensure all required photometric testing is complete. Additionally, this role works with post sales and applications engineering to resolve issues with light levels in the field, identifies equipment needs for existing and new tests as well as maintain current equipment including calibration, maintains laboratory accreditation with NVLAP, and updates capabilities and accreditations when business needs or standards change. Lastly, the Manager Photometric Testing ensures that the photometric laboratory is in compliance with the Laboratory Quality Manual and represents Acuity Brands on IES TPC to maintain and develop new test methods.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
Six year’s experience in technical role with at least two years of management preferred, preferably in testing laboratories accredited under ISO 17025
Understanding of the science of light and photometry required
A firm knowledge and experience with IES test methods. Ability to interpret and apply new test methods as needed. Experience with test equipment including integrating spheres, goniometers, power analyzers, power supplies (AC and DC), and other types of equipment used for photometric testing
Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate with technicians and engineers
Knowledge and experience with ISO 17025
Proficient with SharePoint software, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and other Windows applications
Experience in working on industry committees developing test procedures for photometric testing preferred; NCQLP LC Certified preferred
Physical requirements of medium work - ability to exert, over shoulder level, up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and /or 10 pounds of force constantly, to move objects
Travel Requirements
Potential travel for training purposes to other Lab locations. Overall, minimal travel expected for this position
