Job Description:
Position Purpose:
Serves as the intermediary between the customer and the internal and external service providers. Coordinates workload tasks in conjunction with customer requested times and daily schedule and jobs estimates received (i.e. staffing, equipment, time, and costs) from the service providers. As a collaborative effort the Logistics Coordinator will interact daily with the Move Contractor, the Transportation Supervisor and Traffic Management personnel to identify potential problems and develop workarounds to ensure customer requirements are performed efficiently and completed satisfactorily. The Logistics Coordinator shall be experienced with movements of free-standing, systems, or modular furniture, breakdowns, set-ups and when appropriate utilizes items made available from the reutilization program. The Logistics Coordinator will perform data entry tasks and other related jobs in support of Transportation Branch operations. Additionally, the Logistics Coordinator will prepare, maintain and consolidate a variety of transportation statistical reports. The duties of this position may be conducted at various locations to include all Goddard Space Flight Center locations (WFF, IV&V and GISS) and the greater Baltimore-Washington DC metropolitan area.

Duties And Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, documents, and monitors office moves
- Provides face-to-face coordination with the customer and Government representatives to help ensure that all move requirements are adequately identified
- Interacts with Move Contractors’ personnel all move requests so that job completion will be accomplished during the weekday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM timeframe; any time variations outside of these parameters that will result in overtime hours must have advance written approval by the requesting customer and TRAX Transportation Manager
- Provides budgetary estimates/cost analysis to customers in conjunction with the Move Contractor
- Attends coordination meetings and makes recommendations and assessments related to services requested for large relocation efforts
- Provides all appropriate move information to the Move Contractor, who is primarily responsible to perform walk-throughs with the customer to determine manpower, equipment, and time completion estimates; the Move Contractor may request the Logistics Coordinator’s participation in walkthrough as required
- Interfaces with the customer and the Move Contractor on the projected move date to resolve all questions or problems
- Provides guidance and assistance to the customer for damage claims, from initiation to resolution
- Participates in post move meetings with the customer, company/government management and Move Contractor to determine lessons learned that may be used to improve processes and future outcomes
- Provides oversight and coordination of special events requests and works closely with the customer, the Transportation Supervisor and other personnel involved in the planning and execution of such events
- Provides assistance to the Vehicle Services Coordinator to include data entry in Maximo, generating reports and corresponding with customers
- In consultation with the Transportation Branch Manager, maintains Work Instructions to ensure they are up to date and accurate
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills And Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five years of progressive experience in a position providing broad-based office move support
- Working knowledge of commercial carrier contracts, claim procedures, and invoice verification
- Must possess the ability to perform job requirements with minimal guidance and direction from the Transportation Branch Manager
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work in conjunction with the Move Contractor, customers, and management
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts to meet schedule demands
- Working knowledge of free standing, systems, and modular furniture (i.e. manufacturers, products and layouts)
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
- The work of this position is generally performed in an environmentally controlled office environment but occasional field work (labs, outside storage areas, warehouse areas) may be required
- Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time

- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
