Position Summary : An entry level Instrumentation and Electrical Technician position that will work as part of the Production Operations department within the Instrumentation and Electrical group to ensure the integrity and reliability of the I&E function. The role of the Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I is to support and enhance all instrumentation, electronics, communication, and automation equipment on our producing well pads. The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician I will work closely with the Engineering, Construction, Production, Gas Control and SCADA departments to ensure all well pads are being operated as safely, efficiently and reliably as possible.
Responsibilities
Minimum Education: 2 year degree in Engineering Technology, Information Technology or related field; High School with related experience
Minimum Experience: 1 year of related experience
Oil & Gas Exp Required: Yes
Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, understanding of electronics, RTUs, , analog and digital signaling, understanding of hardware level communication specifications (rs232, rs485, Ethernet), understanding of Automation and Controls fundamentals, understanding of gas measurement standards and national electric code, ability to read P&IDs.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, reliability and effectiveness of all instrumentation, electronics, controls, telecommunications equipment, and power systems of production facilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation anomalies including participation in an on call rotation.
- Track and document all work.
- Comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rule and standards, as well as company policies.
- Develop knowledge of all the equipment we have on the facilities and how to operate, calibrate and maintain. Work to learn the best methods of troubleshooting all the devices on the pad.
- Manage a route of well pads. Perform semiannual ESD tests. Daily monitor all instrumentation within the SCADA system to make sure all equipment is functioning optimally. Respond to and repair any abnormal conditions. Monitor power at all sites (solar, grid, TEG).
- Design, build, test and deploy RTU/PLC code modifications for safety and control systems.
- Troubleshoot custom control logic within RTUs.
- Work with Hart communicator and multimeter to diagnose transmitter and signal anomalies. Rebuild or replace transmitter and RTU electronics or replace when necessary.
