JOB SUMMARY
NOV is seeking a highly skilled HSE Area Manager to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across multiple facilities within an assigned region. In this strategic leadership role, you will support operational leaders and guide local HSE teams to ensure consistent implementation of NOV’s HSE policies, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement of regional safety performance. You will serve as a key advisor and change agent—driving proactive risk reduction, developing and standardizing HSE programs, enhancing employee engagement, and promoting an interdependent safety culture across all sites.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide area leadership in developing, implementing, and continuously improving HSE programs, policies, and initiatives across multiple sites.
Partner with facility leadership, regional leadership, and contractors to identify systemic hazards, evaluate risk, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Lead and support multi-site incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis, effective corrective actions, and shared learning across the region.
Ensure completion and quality of area HSE audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance reviews, including follow-up and closure of findings.
Mentor, coach, and develop site-level HSE personnel, building capability, consistency, and alignment with corporate HSE objectives.
Deliver training, communication, and awareness campaigns that strengthen HSE engagement and reinforce leadership and employee accountability.
Oversee regional compliance with environmental regulations, including emissions, waste management, reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
Analyze regional HSE performance data to identify trends, prioritize actions, and support data-driven decision-making.
Serve as the liaison between corporate HSE, regional leadership, and field operations to ensure alignment, support, and effective strategy deployment.
Review and enhance regional emergency response plans, drills, and preparedness programs.
Collaborate with external partners—including regulators, contractors, and vendors—to ensure compliance with NOV and regulatory requirements.
Monitor changes in industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, ensuring regional readiness and compliance.
Assist in budgeting and resource planning for regional HSE initiatives and staffing needs.
Champion a proactive safety culture that encourages employee involvement, open communication, and shared responsibility.
Perform additional regional HSE duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
7 years of progressive HSE experience, with at least 3 years supporting multiple sites or leading regional/area HSE programs preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop strategic solutions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
Strong organization, planning, and time-management capabilities.
Ability to travel regularly to regional sites as needed.
