WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

The candidate must reside no more than 45 minutes from the chapter.

South of Denver is preferred .

Under general supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment. Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

The salary range for this position is (CO): $:22.26/hr - $23.73/hr

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties involving routine tasks and responsibilities. Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Repair or replace concrete floors, steps and sidewalks. Paint structures and equipment as needed. Install and correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems. Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies. Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment.
  • May move and store furniture and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs of various projects. Requisition new supplies and equipment.
  • May plant and tend flowerbeds. Prune shrubs and trees to enhance growth and appearance, water lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds and spray fertilizer and insecticides. May rake and remove fallen leaves, sweep external walkways and staircases and may remove snow using power removal equipment or shovel. Apply snow-melting chemical when necessary on company roads, walkways and outside staircases.
  • Will drive vehicle to other locations.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

Support the attraction, retention, and scheduling of potential blood drive sponsors and the education of various stakeholders to maximize blood drive success and achieve established monthly, quarterly, and annual blood collection goals. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. This position covers the following areas: Dixon, Freeport, Kewanee, Moline, and Sterling.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

Support the implementation of creative strategies to attract, manage, and retain potential blood drive sponsors and feeder groups for existing blood drives.

Support consistent execution of the 12-week drive management cycle, including working with key stakeholders to ensure sufficient drive sign-ups are attained. Facilitate a quality hand-off of blood drives between internal stakeholders within a 12-week timeframe.

Support the implementation of territory plans in collaboration with strategic business planning to achieve collection goals, increase monthly bookings, improve operational efficiency, and identify new blood drive sponsors.

Provide routine organizational and operational support to the blood drive coordinator to ensure achievement of collection goals and provide the highest level of customer service to encourage the sponsor to grow their blood program with the Red Cross in frequency and performance metrics.

Schedule education programs for blood drive sponsor contact, recruitment committees, and volunteers within assigned groups to assist in meeting collection objectives and to comply with all directives, regulations, and local operating procedures.

Maintain accurate records to track and provide statistical data on blood drive sponsor group performance.

Appropriately utilize tools, technology, and strategy provided by the organization to enhance customer service, efficiency, and productivity.

Responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications or related field required.

1 year of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Knowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer relationship management/maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.

Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are required. Event planning experience desired.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills, are required.

A current, valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

Ability to work on a team.

Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Physical requirements are those present in a normal office environment. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. May be required to travel to sites throughout the region to meet with potential donor groups. Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
