Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled, compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team. In this role, you'll work alongside our veterinarians to provide high-quality urgent/emergency care to our patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Schedule
- Monday - Saturday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM; Sunday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Full-time position (4 days per week, rotating schedule)
- 4 weekend shifts per month (5 on longer months)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain patient histories and perform initial assessments/triage
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Perform laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging
- Monitor patients under anesthesia and during recovery
- Place IV catheters and collect blood/urine samples
- Maintain patient records and communicate with pet owners; Discharging patients
- Provide exceptional client education and support
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance
Requirements
- Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in Michigan
- Team-oriented!
- Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Excellent knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Compassion for animals and their owners during stressful situations
- Physical ability to lift and restrain animals (up to 50 lbs)
